American Standard Champion 4 is one of the best toilets of American Standard. It’s designed to exceeds the industry’s standards.

“One unique feature of Champion 4 toilet has left a mark to be distinct from others.”

What is this distinct feature and how does it differ from others? What other features does Champion 4 offer? Standard height? Water consumption? And all other questions you have in mind will be answered in this review.

Design and Flushing System

The Champion 4 is made of vitreous china which gives it a permanent glossy, ultrasmooth, and easy to wipe surface. But, of course, it must be properly taken care of to last a long period of time.

This toilet also has an EverClean surface which prevent the growth of bacteria, mildew, and molds. It reduces the formation of stain marks. Further with its flushing efficiency, it will leave your toilet clean and no trace of any dirt.

The flushing system and trap way size of Champion 4 make it remarkable and distinct from others. Its flushing efficiency derives from the 4-inch nonadjustable piston-action Accelerator flush valve. Unlike the standard 2 to 3-inch hinge flapper, the 4-inch flapper of Champion 4 allows more water to flow without hindrance. Moreover, with its 23/8 inch sized trapway it enables large mass of waste to move to the drainage system without clogging.

The Champion 4 flush system has a capacity to remove 2.2 pounds of waste in a single flush as tested by Maximum Performance Test Lab.

In addition to this, Champion 4 is also ADA compliant (if fitted with an appropriate seat) with its elongated shaped bowl and rim height of 16 1/2 inches.

With the combination of Champion 4 flushing power and EverClean surface, you are worry-free from keeping your toilet clean with just one flush which consumes 1.6 gallons of water.

Champion 4 has a minimum rough-in size of 12 inches. Since it is a one piece toilet it is much heavier making it a little difficult to position over the rough out. But excluding its weight, it is easy and simple to install.

Since Champion 4 is a one-piece toilet it will cost more. Moreover, if either of the tank or bowl gets broken, you will have to replace the entire toilet. Champion 4 key feature is its flushing system however, 1.6 gallons per flush will not give you an opportunity to save water. Furthermore, water consumption of Champion 4 does not comply with EPA water sensed certification.
Champion 4 exposed trapway is also a disadvantage in terms of an ease cleaning of the outside part of the toilet.
Lastly, it only has an elongated bowl shape. Thus, Champion 4 does not give you more option.
